Frequently asked

Everything about nearcom.

Answers to what people ask us most about the app, privacy, communities, businesses, and launch.

nearcom is a hyperlocal community platform for India. It's an app that lets you meet, talk to, buy from, sell to, and organize with the people who live within a radius you choose — from 1 KM to 20 KMS.

Think of it as the town hall, the classifieds board, the community centre, and the local business directory — all in one calm, well-designed app. Built by Korvex Technologies.

Signing up is quick and easy! First, enter your Email ID or Mobile Number to receive a secure OTP for verification. Once verified, simply fill out a brief profile form with your basic details, and your account will be created. That's it!

No — and this is one of the biggest differences between nearcom and other society-only apps. nearcom works for anyone, anywhere: independent houses, apartment complexes, hostels, PGs, villages, or urban neighbourhoods. All that matters is that you have an address and a mobile number.

Yes, completely free for regular users. We support the platform with lightweight, locally-scoped Google AdMob ads — never intrusive, never cross-city. Businesses may pay for enhanced directory placement in the future, but core features stay free forever.

No. Your exact address and GPS coordinates are never shown publicly. Other neighbours see only your approximate distance ("0.4 km away") and an approximate area name — never a street number.

Read the full Privacy Policy for details on how location data is stored and used.

Every post and profile has a Report button. Reports go directly to our Trust & Safety team, who review within 24 hours. We enforce a one-person-one-account rule via mobile-number verification, and we permanently ban repeat offenders. You can also block individual users — they'll disappear from your feed, chats, and searches instantly.

No, zero commission. nearcom does not process payments — all transactions happen offline, directly between neighbours. We only introduce buyer and seller; the rest is between you two. This also means we don't collect your bank or UPI details.

Absolutely. Set the price to ₹0 and it'll be tagged "Free" in the Marketplace. The Free Stuff category is one of our most active — old books, kids' clothes, plant cuttings, furniture, appliances.

No. Once you mark an item as "Sold," the Message Seller button is instantly disabled on that listing. No more "Is it still available?" messages at midnight.

The Feed shows everything happening near you. Communities are focused sub-groups you opt into — Park Cleanup Crew, Weekend Runners, New Parents Circle, Book Swap Society. Each community has its own posts and a dedicated group chat room. You can create your own, moderate it, and choose Public or Private.

The creator becomes the admin. They set the rules, approve join requests (in private groups), and can remove members or posts. All community moderation still follows nearcom's platform-wide community guidelines and Trust & Safety escalation path.

Once nearcom is live, head to the Businesses tab and tap "Add your business." You'll enter the name, address, category, description, and a photo. Your listing appears to every neighbour in the same city, sorted by distance. It's free to list.

Yes — those are some of the most valuable listings on nearcom. Home cooks, tuition teachers, tailors, mehendi artists, tailors, physiotherapists — they all belong here. You control what's visible in the listing.

Go to Profile → and there will be a slider to set the radius at the bottom of the profile page. You can also update your home location from there. Your feed refreshes instantly.

In-app: Profile → Support → Send feedback. Or email us directly at contact@korvextechnologies.com. We respond within one working day.

Public launch is planned for Q3 2026. Waitlisters will be invited city by city, starting with our pilot cities — Alwar and Jaipur — with more added weekly.

Join the waitlist — that's the only way in. We prioritize invitations by neighbourhood density (so early sign-ups from the same area often unlock the whole street).

Yes, both. nearcom is built with React Native and Expo, and will launch simultaneously on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
