We started nearcom because the general-purpose tools we had — scattered chat groups, broad social networks, and city-wide marketplaces — weren't giving us the neighbourhood we wanted. So we built one.
Every city is a stack of neighbourhoods. Every neighbourhood is a stack of streets. And every street is quietly full of people who could be helping each other — if only there was a place to say hello.
nearcom is that place.
The whole app is anchored to the metre. When we say a post is 340 m away, it's 340 m — computed with the Haversine formula on the server, not "your city" or "your pincode."
OTP verification, single-account rule, no anonymous handles. Every neighbour is a real person on a real street. Bad actors get blocked, reported, and removed — permanently.
No infinite scroll. No engagement bait. No cross-city ads. The feed only shows what's near you, ordered by relevance to your neighbourhood — not by outrage.
Your data lives in India. Your address is never public by default. We collect minimal information — no Aadhaar, no payment data required.
